Nesting Habitat Discovery in Diamondback Terrapins using Satellite Telemetry
Tonight's speaker is Calusa Herpetological Society Treasurer, Chris Lechowicz. The title of his presentation is "Nesting Habitat Discovery in Diamondback Terrapins using Satellite Telemetry". Chris has been a member of our herp society since 2002 and has served on the board in various positions over the years.
Chris is the Director of the Wildlife & Habitat Management Program/Herpetologist at the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation where he has worked since 2002. Currently, he is conducting research on ornate diamondback terrapins (M. terrapin), Florida box turtles (T. c. bauri), Florida chicken turtles (D. reticularia), Florida mud turtles (K. steindachneri) and eastern indigo snakes (D. couperi). He is a Florida Representative for the Diamondback Terrapin Working Group, a member of the IUCN Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialists Group (TFTSG), member of the Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA), the Turtle Conservancy (TC), and the Turtle & Tortoise Preservation Group (TTPG).

Come out to meet others who keep, breed or study reptiles and amphibians, and let them share their fascination with you. We average 10 - 20 people attending every meeting.
