SPEAKER & TOPIC: This month's speaker is Wayne Hill of Winter Haven, FL. Wayne is the organizer of the National Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona Beach, FL, long-time member of the Florida Turtle and Tortoise Club and Turtle and a Tortoise Preservation Group board member (TTPG). Wayne breeds several high profile species of turtle such as the spotted pond turtle (Geoclemys hamiltoni), Coahuilan box turtles (Terrapene coahuila), Aubrys softshell turtles (Cycloderma aubryi), etc. His auctions at the Daytona Reptile Expo have raised more than $100,000.00 for research and conservation programs with imperiled herps across the world.

Wayne's talk is titled "Care and Captive Reproduction of Aubry's softshell turtle (Cycloderma aubryi)". Wayne will take us through how he cares for this very unique looking Arican softshell turtle and how he breeds them in Central Florida. Wayne's talks are always very interesting and his colorful personality adds to the fun. Be sure to plan to come out after the meeting to get dinner at Texas Roadhouse on Six-mile Cypress Dr, just south of Colonial Blvd by Lowes.

  See you there!
