Speaker
Information:
This month's speaker
will be Whitney Hummel. Her talk will be
on the Amphibians and Reptiles of the Lake Wales
Ridge.
Whitney grew up in Lake Placid, Florida in Highlands County which is located on the Lake Wales Ridge. She was exposed to many unique herps, including endemic species, that can be found nowhere else. Whitney has been attending Calusa herp society meetings, herp related events, herp trips, as well as herp conferences since 2007. She also worked as a Technician at Archbold Biological Station helping with research on the Florida sand skink (Neoseps reynoldsi), a Lake Wales Ridge endemic, and had an internship in the Ecology Lab at the station.
After
the meeting, you are invited to join us at a nearby restaurant (announced at
the meeting) for more herp discussions and camaraderie over food and drinks.
See you there!
